INSTRUCTION TO CONTRIBUTORS

Molecular Biology & Biotechnology Journal is a half-yearly journal of the Bangladesh Association for Biotechnology (BABT) published in June and December. The journal publishes original research papers, communications and review articles in any branch of Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and allied fields. Submission of paper implies that the results reported have not been published or submitted for publications elsewhere.

Manuscript should be double spaced with wide margin. On the first page, paper title and author(s) name(s) and address(es) should be typed. On the following pages, paper title, Short running title, Key words, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgements (if any) and References should be typed. The subtitles, however, should not be used in case of short communication.

Tables and Figures: The same data should not be used in both tables and figures. Tables and illustrations should be on separate sheets and numbered consecutively as they appear in the text. Photographs should be submitted with proposed reduction or magnification indicated, when relevant, by a scale line on the illustration. Typographical conventions and layout of headings, tables and illustrations should be as exemplified in recent issues of the journal. Each table and illustration must be referred to in the text. Metric system of measurement should be followed throughout the paper.

Citations should be like: (Mattoo, 2003), (Toma and Fabian, 2003) or (Sopory et al, 2003) and be listed in alphabetical order. Abbreviation of titles of periodicals should be according to the “World List of Scientific Periodicals”. References should conform to the following examples:

Handling charge is Tk 200 to be paid on submission and printing charge Tk 500 and 100 with the modified copy for full paper and communication, respectively. Journal rate per issue for Bangladeshis and SAARC nationals is Tk 50 (Individual) and 100 (Institution); and for overseas US$ 5 and 10, respectively. Membership rate for General Tk 200 and for life 1500 for Bangladeshis US$ 10 and 40 for others.
